The character of Bloodshot, real name Ray Garrison, was created in 1992 and is one of the most popular characters in Valiant’s comic book universe with over 7.5 million copies sold. When he’s revived from death by a shadowy corporation, Garrison will attempt to reconcile his newfound abilities and missing memory with the man – or the weapon – he will have to become.
With Sony’s plans for a Spider-Man cinematic universe (minus the web-slinger himself) currently going up in flames, the Valiant universe seems to be their next attempt at the current Hollywood trend.
Bloodshot will be directed by Dave Wilson (creative partner of Deadpool director Tim Miller), with a script from Arrival writer Eric Heisserer, and is said to be aiming for a tone along the lines of iconic 80s action fare such as Robocop and Terminator. No release date has yet been set.
