Liv Tyler has reportedly been offered the lead role in MGM’s forthcoming remake of killer doll series launcher, Child’s Play.
Tyler has been offered, as reports That Hashtag Show, the role of Karen Barclay – struggling single mother to young son Andy, for whose birthday she buys a much sought-after Good Guy doll she soon discovers is possessed by a recently slain serial killer. Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home’s Catherine Hicks played the role in the 1988 original.
David Katzenberg and Seth Grahame-Smith will produce the remake – which is separate from the in-development Child’s Play TV series that will continue the existing storyline most recently left on a cliffhanger with Cult of Chucky, and retains the direct involvement of creator Don Mancini and series mainstay Brad Dourif.
Polaroid director Lars Klevberg will direct from a script by Tyler Burton Smith.
