Because no nostalgia is safe from the grip of the studio system, 1990 chiller Arachnophobia is being geared up for a remake by Amblin Entertainment and horror maestro James Wan.
The 90s original was directed by Frank Oz, and starred Jeff Daniels as a big city doctor who moves to an idyllic small town just in time for it to fall under siege by a new species of deadly South American spiders. John Goodman and Julian Sands also starred.
The remake is currently only in the early stages of development, with no writer or director yet attached. Wan will not direct, but will produce under his Atomic Monster label, while Oz will return as an executive producer.
