James Wan, Jason Blum Teaming Up Again For Robot Doll Horror M3GAN

Aquaman
director James Wan and legendary horror producer Jason Blum (Paranormal Activity, Sinister, Insidious, Ouija, The Purge, Get Out, Split, etc.), are partnering up for a brand new project hoped to be the start of a fresh franchise for the pair; M3GAN.

Following a toy company’s brilliant roboticist, the film will see the eccentric genius create a life-like synthetic robot doll designed to bond and nurture his newly-orphaned niece – only for the newly-sentient doll to become terrifyingly, violently over-protective.

So it’s Child’s Play / Annabelle, with a sci-fi twist. Fair enough.

The producers have hired Gerard Johnstone (Housebound) to direct, from a script by up-and-comer Akela Cooper (Luke Cage, American Horror Story). Shooting is expected to begin later this year, No release date for M3GAN has yet been set.
