Hasbro Confirms Sequel To 2017’s Power Rangers

Hasbro Studios, the new licensee holders for Saban’s flagship IP, have confirmed that they will begin production on a sequel to 2017’s big-budget Power Rangers movie.

The news came as part of a broader strategy layout that Hasbro have pushed forwards, including making 2019 a ‘transition year’ for the property – switching merchandising from previous company Bandai, to in-house at Hasbro. Work on new multimedia content is also expected to begin that year, with the intent of releasing content that year and the year after.

On the small screen, this means Power Rangers: Beast Morphers in 2019 – a slightly older-skewing series, which will incorporate leather costumes and a more mature style – and on the big screen this means shooting will begin, with the intent of releasing a blockbuster sequel in 2020.

Power Rangers (’17) starred Bryan Cranston, Bill Hader, Elizabeth Banks, Dacre Montgomery, Naomi Scott, RJ Cyler, Ludi Lin, and Becky G.
