The film, which is currently light on specifics aside from being an ‘international action-comedy, heist-thriller’, comes from Rawson Marshall Thurber who will direct from his own script. Thurber was responsible for Central Intelligence, which also starred Johnson and made $217 million worldwide on a budget of $50 million. The writer/director has also paired with Johnson for the buzzy Skyscraper, which releases later this summer.
Gal Gadot is currently filming Wonder Woman 2 in London. The sequel will again be helmed by director Patty Jenkins, and will see Diana of Themyscira facing off against the cursed warrior Cheetah (franchise addition Kristen Wiig).
Rawson Thurber flew to London for less than 30 hours to pitch Gadot Red Notice in person. The action-comedy will now be looking for a final male lead to complete its triumvirate.
Red Notice will begin shooting in April 2019, and is eyeing a June 12th 2020 release date.
