The Universal / Amblin Entertainment blockbuster sequel had its debut in a further 17 international markets this weekend, where it picked up an additional $106.7 million to add to its Tyrannosaur-sized total. The film also finally opened in the US, where it picked up $150 million in its three-day weekend run. It is still yet to open in some markets, including Japan.
In total, the picture currently sits at $711.5 million globally, with $561.5 million coming from international markets. Jurassic sequels usually have decent legs for the Summer scene, but matching Jurassic World’s $1.6bn seems distinctly unlikely.
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom sees the return of Bryce Dallas Howard and Chris Pratt as they attempt to save as many dinosaurs as possible from the now-active Isla Nublar volcano. It is in UK cinemas now, rated 12A.
