Ridley Scott to take on Disney’s The Merlin Saga

Fresh off of completing the eventful All the Money in the World, iconic director Ridley Scott is reportedly set to helm Disney’s forthcoming series launcher, The Merlin Saga.

Lord of the Rings trilogy co-writer Philippa Boyens penned the adaptation of T.A. Barron’s nineties novel series, in which a young wizard – left for dead and with no memory of his life – discovers a mysterious power that leads him to a mysterious and enchanted land.

Scott’s own Scott Free label will handle producing duties by way of Scott and Gil Netter, with Scott said to be taking the project on his next directorial effort. The director does, however, currently have an adaptation of Don Winslow’s The Cartel in advanced development as well.
