The Handmaid’s Tale and Mad Men star Elizabeth Moss has landed the title role in Ritesh Batra’s forthcoming feature, A Letter from Rosemary Kennedy.
The Sense of an Ending director will helm from a Black List script by Nick Yarborough, based on personal letters from the eldest sister of President John F. Kennedy – a vibrant woman whose developmental challenges saw her spend her life away from public view.
Rosemary would go on to become institutionalised and suffer a botched lobotomy due to her father Joseph’s political ambitions. The film will explore her desire to connect with her family and how her tale became a rallying call for change.
Moss will also serve as producer, alongside Jason Michael Berman and Kevin Turen.
