Ed Sheeran Joins Danny Boyle And Richard Curtis’ Music Comedy

Grammy award-winner Ed Sheeran has joined the cast of director Danny Boyle’s forthcoming, and presently-untitled, music-themed comedy flick.

The film, also set to star Lily James (Cinderella) and Kate McKinnon (Saturday Night Live), has been written by Love Actually scribe Richard Curtis, and is set to begin filming this summer. Nothing is currently known of the plot.

Boyle is currently working on the project alongside his previously-announced James Bond sequel.

This won’t be the first time Ed Sheeran – known for hits such as Shape of You and Castle On The Hill – will have found his way in front of the cameras. The performer stumbled into a much-maligned cameo as a Lannister soldier with a penchant for song in HBO’s Game of Thrones last year, and also has credits in FX’s The Bastard Executioner and Australian soap Home And Away. It’s unknown if his role in this film will be substantial, or merely a cameo.

No formal release date has been set for the picture, though it is expected to release next year.
