10 Cloverfield Lane writer to pen The Craft remake

10 Cloverfield Lane scribe Daniel Casey has signed on to rewrite Sony’s upcoming remake of cult nineties fave, The Craft.

Honeymoon director Leigh Janiak wrote the previous script with Phil Graziadei when attached to direct the project, though there’s been no further movement on it until now.

The 1996 original entered on Robin Tunney as the new girl at school who fell in with a trio of aspiring witches, played by Rachel True, Neve Campbell, and Fairuza Balk. With the added power of their new member, the would-be coven discovered a previously untapped reservoir of supernatural power that would quickly bring about their downfall.

Casey boards the project whilst working on Incognito for Fede Alvarez, as well as an adaptation of Larry Niven’s Inconsistent Moon.
